Terdema Ussery
Dallas Mavericks President
Terdema L. Ussery is in his eighth year as president and CEO of the Dallas Mavericks. Under Ussery’s direction, the Dallas Mavericks organization has experienced increased corporate sponsorship, ticket sales, television revenues and community awareness. He was ranked 21st in Sports Illustrated's "Top 101 Most Influential Minorities in Sports,” and was named the “Corporate Executive of the Year” in 2003 by Black Enterprise magazine. Ussery has served illustrious positions such as president of Nike Sports Management and commissioner of the Continental Basketball Association.
Ussery also serves as CEO of HDNet, the nation's first high-definition television network. His amazing personal story began in the Watts section of South Central Los Angeles, where he was a member of the Boys & Girls Club. After graduating from The Thacher School, an elite boarding school in Ojai, California, Ussery earned a bachelor's degree from Princeton, a master’s degree from Harvard, and a law degree from the University of California at Berkeley, where he served as executive editor of the California Law Review.
